Product Information

El Dorado is a range of Demerara rums produced in Guyana. Established in 1992, the brand has won many awards and fans worldwide, with rums ranging from three to 21 years of age; and the 15 Year Old proving especially popular. Unlike solera-aged rums, the age statement relates to the youngest rum in the bottle.

Guyanan rums are very fruity and rich – among the fullest in body of all Caribbean rums. The area is known for the famed Demerara River, around which grow the finest sugar canes.

An elegant multi-award winning rum, El Dorado 12 Year Old typifies the smooth mellow sweetness of Demerara Rums. Savour it straight, on the rocks or in a classic Mai Tai cocktail.

A blend of specially selected aged rums, the youngest being no less than 12 years old, it is a combination of the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills and the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, blended to perfection and aged in old bourbon oak casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet, toffee, vanilla, spices, oak. Hints of smoke.

Palate: Cocoa, caramel, prunes, spices, vanilla.

Finish: Long, sublimely smooth, hints of smoke on the tail.
