Kaikyo Distilley"„¢s Hatozaki is a new project set up by our favourite Sake brewery, Akashi-Tai, based in the coastal city of Akashi in Southern Honshu. The secret of Japanese whisky lies in the skill of the blenders, Hatozaki blends Japanese malt with imported whiskies and ages them in a combination of ex-sherry, bourbon and Mizunara oak casks.
Pure Malt, made with 100% malt whiskies, including stocks distilled in Japan as well as imported malt whiskies. This one features spirits drawn from a trio of casks - bourbon, sherry and Mizunara casks. It's named after the nearby Hatozaki lighthouse, which is the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan.
