Rita started to plant Jardins de Granito winery 6 years ago, after a long journey around the wine world, together with Vasco her husband, who as an oncologist researched the benefits and possible uses in health as a by-product of wine. The team is completed by Mafalda Magalhaes who is a highly respected internationally renowned winemaker.

The Jardins do Granito is a collection where she wants to give you the 3rd dimension of a sensorial experience walking through Dao unique terroir. These wines reflect a lush garden filled with redcurrants, strawberries & eucalyptus. When you taste them, you are transported to this beautiful mountain wine region.
Dao terroir is marked by the constant presence of granite. Respecting the wine tradition of Dao, “Jardim de Granito” is produced on the slopes of Silgueiros, in soils of granite origin, where the vineyard is surrounded by oak trees & pine forests.

Manual harvesting begins in the second week of September. The grapes are fully fermented in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks, carefully macerated to better express the distinctiveness of each grape. The wine is naturally stabilised.

This wine has been created to express the elegance and gastronomic heritage of the Dao region. Bright ruby in colour, with red berry aromas and balanced tannins which provide a full mouth feel.

Great with roasted duck or mezze style dishes.
