Founded in 2006 by a dynamic team of wine industry veterans who were determined to rock the wine world. The vision was to make the best California Cabernet under $20. Armed with a belief that wine should be fun, uninhibited and approachable, they set out to share a splash of Cannonball Cabernet in every glass.
By 2010, Cannonball Cabernet had established a solid reputation in the under $20 category and was receiving lots of love from consumers, restaurants, and retailers. They all wanted more, so the line was extended. The first varietal was Chardonnay, followed by Merlot, and then Sauvignon Blanc.
As our firstborn, Cannonball Cabernet remains our flagship wine.
The beloved flavours of Cannonball are sourced from select regions throughout California. The diverse California microclimates, topography and soils provide the perfect palette to create wines that are complex and highly consistent.
Today, Healdsburg, California based Cannonball is present in 47 United States and 30 international markets.
Sourced from foggy Monterey to gravelly Livermore, sunny Paso Robles to mountainous Santa Lucia Highlands in pursuit of bright fruit flavours, supple easy tannins and alluring acidity to craft our final blend.
This is a true Sonoma County blend. 61% of the Merlot comes from our estate vineyard, Adam and Eve, in Northern Russian River Valley, 24% is sourced from Alexander Valley and 15% from Dry Creek Valley. This vintage spent 12 months in French oak, 38% new oak.
Enticing and impressive.
Aromas of fresh huckleberry, pomegranate and nuances of toasty oak. Medium-full bodied with classic Bordeaux proportions, wonderful concentration with juicy flavours of raspberry, ripe plum and baking spices with a long, lingering finish.
An expansive persona, this wine has enough backbone to accompany red meats, Asian duck and pasta with rich sauces. Enjoy!
