El Dorado is a range of Demerara rums produced in Guyana. Established in 1992, the brand has won many awards and fans worldwide, with rums ranging from three to 21 years of age; and the 15 Year Old proving especially popular. Unlike solera-aged rums, the age statement relates to the youngest rum in the bottle.
The El Dorado Rare Collection gives light to three of Guyana's most well-loved rum distilleries - Port Mourant, Enmore and Versailles. This very rare Demerara Rum has been distilled on the Wooden Single Pot Still, aged in former bourbon barrels, bottled as a limited release.
Slightly briny and nutty notes along with sweet aromatic notes of honey and caramel, and spices like vanilla, cinnamon and liquorice. Sweet and savoury notes are nicely balanced, like salted toffee, with familiar notes of oak, dried fruit like apricots, and nuts, like hazelnut and almonds.
