Located just south of Belfast in the grounds of the beautiful Killaney Estate. The distillery takes its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch, whose name in Irish translates as town of the island.
Within the design of Hinch Distillery many unique elements have been incorporated which will both validate the distillery’s craft credentials and also position them as key innovators within the Irish whiskey category.
The focus here is on soft, triple distilled whiskies. These are brought down to bottling strength with the cleanest water in Ireland, coming from the Silent Valley Reservoir.
The Hinch 5yo Double Wood gives a hint to its maturation in the name. The Irish whiskey is made from a blend of both grain and malt whiskeys, and it's initially aged in bourbon casks with a 12-month finish in virgin American oak barrels.
