The life of the Marques of Vitoria presents a sequence of historical landmarks. He migrated to south America in the late 19th century. Arriving in Chile he embarked upon a variety of business ventures. He found in vines a symbolic encounter between the beauty of the land and man's legitimate ambitions. His wines achieved great renown.
Before returning to Vitoria to live out his last days in the homeland, he joined a group of adventurers from Alava in the pursuit of the Calcedonia fiabilis, a beautiful, little-known blue butterfly. Today, the Marquis of Vitoria remains in the strata of memories where great anonymous heroes and great men rest.

The estates of Marqués de Vitoria, 100% owned, extend by the terms of D.O.Ca Rioja de Oyón, Barriobusto and Mendavia. An area located at about 650 meters above sea level that provide grapes with great aromatic potential.
58 hectares of vineyards of the Tempranillo and 4 hectares of Viura, plus 16 hectares of organic farming vineyard. An agriculture based on the ecology, without the use of inorganic fertilizers, nor chemical treatments, maintaining cultivation practices respectful with the environment.

Clean, bright, cherry red colour developing to maroon. Nose: Complex, intense. Well integrated aromas of ripe fruits and barrel notes. Spicy notes. Tasting: Elegant, round, very balanced. Pleasant on the palate, smooth and fine. Refined tannin.Finish: Long finish, sweet hints. Wood and toasted notes.
It matches with any kind of meat and mushrooms rice. Medium-aged cheese such as emmental or gruyere. Delicious with curried goat and lamb.
