Domaine Vessigaud is a small property, established in the 18th century and encompassing some of the very finest vineyard plots in Pouilly-Fuissé. The current winemaker, Pierre Vessigaud, is the latest of a long line of winemakers in the family, each passing down tradtional winemaking methods to the successive generations.
Domaine Pierre Vessigaud has existed for 5 generations (beginning in 1839). The domaine is located in the hamlet of Pouilly in the heart of the appellation Pouilly-Fuissé. Pierre took over the estate after his father in 1988. Pierre has been working in the most natural way possible since 1998 practicing organic viticulture without claiming the organic label.
Pierre Vessigaud works to a simple philosophy: there cannot be great wine without great terroir. First and foremost, he concentrates on producing the very finest grapes for his wine to great effect.
