Producer Information

Created in 1986 ZINIO Bodegas was established as a cooperative by 200 viticulturalists who made their land available to the winery.

Positioned in the heart of the Rioja Alta , in the Najerilla valley; the vineyard is surrounded by mountains both to the north by Sierra Cantabria and to the south by Sierra de la Demanda. In addition, the Ebro river to the north and its tributaries the Najerilla river to the west and the Yalde to the south; that exert a strong influence on the character of our vineyards, which extends to over 450 hectares around the winery.

The winemaking team is lead by Carmelo Cámara. Their core belief is that wine is made in the vineyard, and this belief drives everything they do. Cámara's addition to this winery represents a significant step in the pursuit of excellence and innovation in wine production.

Production

Vines are grown on clay and alluvium soils at an altitude of 290 - 550m.

Pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a temperature controlled ferment in stainless steel. The wine was then aged in American oak barrels for 12 months and then left to mature in bottle. Fining Ingredient: Pea Protein.

Tasting Notes

Clean and bright with a medium garnet colour. On the nose aromas of berries, ripe and well integrated with the toasted aromas typical of an American barrel, vanilla and coconut. It's passage through the mouth is attractive with ripe flavours, a long and round wine.

Ideal to accompany stews, lentils, stuffed turkey, entrecotes and well marbled beef steaks. Perfect with roast lamb and pork.
