Broccardo Langhet Langhe Arneis

Broccardo is a family-run winery located in Monforte d’Alba and managed today by Filippo, Laura and Federica Broccardo. Since 2009, the three siblings have lead the production philosophy, handed down to them by their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Their family traditions continue: a great sense of gratitude towards the land and the use of working techniques in the vineyard always respecting the territory.

The property consists of 13 hectares of vineyards that extend between the municipalities of Monforte d’Alba with the Cru San Giovanni and Bricco San Pietro, Barolo with the Cru Paiagallo and Novello with the Cru Ravera. Production is focused on Barolo DOCG, but Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba DOC, Dolcetto d’Alba DOC, Langhe Arneis DOC and Langhe Rosato DOC are also produced.

Thanks to the experience of three generations before them, Broccardo produces wines with a young heart, with strong roots in tradition.

Three siblings… Filippo, Laura and Federica decide to collect everything that has been handed down to them by their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents: respect for the land, that of the Langhe, love for a job that gives no respite, work of the vineyard in respect of the territory, and they have bottled it for you, so that you can taste it in the right philosophy of life: “Nunc est bibendum, nunc pede libero pulsanda tellus”- Now one must drink, and with one’s foot strike the earth in freedom – Horace, Odes, I, 37, 1.

From a careful selection of the grapes, the fine wines of the Langa are born, in particular Barolo DOCG, Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Barbera d ‘Alba DOC, Dolcetto d’Alba DOC, Langhe DOC Arneis and Langhe DOC Rosato. Since 2014 the cellar has been part of the area that has become a UNESCO heritage site.

From the 2016 harvest, the wine is obtained with low environmental impact viticultural and oenological techniques.

Arneis,

Grapes are picked from vines averaging 20 years of age grown in a versatile soil consisting of sand, silt and clay.

Hand harvesting was carried out in early September after which the grapes were gently pressed before undergoing a very slow fermentation at 10°c to preserve aromas. Matured in stainless steel followed by a minimum of 3 months In bottle before release.

Straw colour, with a pale hint of gold. Fruity bouquet with pleasant aromas of peach blossom, acacia and hawthorn and light hints of almond and white chocolate. Fresh, savoury, fragrant flavour.

Great with delicate starters, light first courses, white meats and raw or marinated fish.
