Casa Belfi is situated at San Polo di Piave in the Province of Treviso, just 40 miles north of Venice and the Adriatic Sea. The current owner is Albino Armani - whose family have been making wine at the estate since 1607 - assisted by wine maker Maurizio Donadi.
Everything is strictly, Dietary Requirement_Organic: the grapes are hand harvested, only indigenous yeasts are used and vinification is carried out according to the, Dietary Requirement_Bio-dynamic calendar.
The extraordinary Colfondo is made from 100% Glera grapes and fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and wooden vats. The wine is left outside over winter in very low temperatures to stabilise and the resulting wine is bottled without being filtered.
A lively straw yellow in colour with an excellent mousse. On the nose, hints of pears, apples and candied lemon. Medium-bodied and lively on the palate. The residual yeast present in the bottle gives up a soft and balanced acidity.
