Chateau La Rose Pourret Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The Château La Rose Pourret estate is ideally located on the northwest plateau of the medieval city of Saint-Emilion. The vineyard extends over an exceptional terroir which characterizes the great wines of the Saint Emilion Grand Cru appellation.
Managed according to the specifications of Organic Agriculture and composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the vineyard located in Saint-Emilion fits perfectly into the typical local grape varieties. The entire plot represents more than 9 hectares of vines, half of which reach the very respectable age of 50 years. The other part of the vineyard is gradually restructured.

Rich in soil made up of sand and deep clay, the terroir is homogeneous throughout the property. Today, the vineyards quest for improvement pushes them to obtain qualitative complexity through new plantations to enrich the constituent palette of the terroir.

The Château La Rose Pourret rehabilitation project is part of a responsible and continuous development approach in the preservation of the environment, respect for the product and guarantee of quality. Committed to a sustainable viticulture approach, the reconversion actions to organic farming have led to certification for the 2021 vintage.

Merlot, Cabernet Franc

Château La Rose Pourret have been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2021. They pay particular attention to each plot individually in order to naturally express the terroir and produce a high quality wine.

The sandy-clayey terroir is rather homogeneous across the entire property. A plot on the northern limestone plateau of Saint Emilion has recently brought more depth to the Cabernet Francs.

The grape varieties in the vineyard today are 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. However, Malbec will appear very soon to bring more generosity and deliciousness to this Saint Emilion Grand Cru.

A new stainless steel vat has been designed to be functional and ergonomic. It is the ideal tool for the qualitative work of the wine and the safety of the staff of Château La Rose Pourret.

Aged 15 months in barrels (1/3 new barrels, 1/3 one-wine barrels, 1/3 concrete tanks).

The nose is very expressive, with very gourmet toasted and brioche notes. Allowed to breathe, the aromas of black fruits develop. On the palate, the tannins are dense and tight. A beautiful depth with a lot of velvety and unctuousness. The finish is very persistent with toasted notes.

A complex and balanced wine that can already be savoured as an accompaniment to lamb, roast fish or a coffee dessert.
