Chateau La Tuilerie Du Puy Bordeaux Superieur

Château la Tuilerie du Puy estate extends over several hectares of vines in the largest wine-growing region of Bordeaux: Entre-Deux-Mers. Between hills and valleys, bordered by woods and pastures, the Château is committed to preserving biodiversity by practicing sustainable agriculture and implementing agro-ecological infrastructures. The estate is fully HVE certified, (High Environmental Value).

Château la Tuilerie du Puy, a family property since 1616, overlooks the Dropt Valley, in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers. For three generations, they have been harvesting, maturing and bottling the great wines that have made the estate famous.

In 1979, Jean-Pierre Regaud continued his father's work, taking over the reins of the estate and immediately set about an ambitious project: to equip the Château with a modern winemaking cellar, fully equipped with stainless steel vats and the latest innovations of the time, including temperature control. From this cellar came fine and powerful wines; wines with great ageing potential which, over the course of the vintages and medals obtained, contributed to building the reputation that Château la Tuilerie du Puy enjoys today.

The next generation took over in 1996 with Michaël Regaud. The same passion for wine, the same love of travel, and always that pioneering spirit that characterizes the family. After having vinified wines in California, Michaël brings his international experience to the family estate and enriches it with his technical expertise. His hobby horses: the careful selection of wood from around the world and constantly refined vinification and aging techniques.

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc

Grown on clay and limestone with a rocky subsoil, the vines have an average age of around 35 years old and are pruned using a double Guyot method, with around 5,000 stocks per hectare.

Plot by plot, each grape variety is harvested separately. The grapes are put into steel tanks during 4 to 6 weeks, which allows a slow and gentle extraction, proof of a perfect expression of our soil. Every plot of land is identified and converted into individual’s stainless vats to perform and sublimate the future blending. The wines are aged 12 months on the lees, to bring some fruit and delicacy. They are only bottled 18 months after the harvest.

Deep and purple colour with an elegant nose of red fruits, blackcurrant and gooseberry. Full and fruity in the mouth with soft tannins. A supple and harmonious wine with good aromatic persistence.

This style of Bordeaux is very versatile. Great with pork chops, beef or lamb and also great for veggies.
