Leeds' own Libations Distillery and Blending House is exactly what it says it is, no smoke and mirrors just great liquid being distilled, macerated, aged and finished right here in the heart of Yorkshire. Don’t take our word for it, pencil in a visit and hop on one of their tours.

Industry firsts don’t come around that often but this is one of those occasions. Libations have the UK’s first warm room used for ageing and finishing. The magic comes from a fully heat regulated ex-shipping container. The heat cycle between 15 and 30 degrees monitoring temperature and humidity to give the casks the perfect environment to mature in a softer more gentle fashion than conventional ageing.

Trading responsibly is something Libations thought long and hard about. Their approach centres around carbon avoidance NOT carbon offsetting. The bottles, labels and cardboard all come from local suppliers, what can be reused is along with constant scrutiny of the supply chain

Barbados & 2011 Foursquare PX Cask

A pure unadulterated expression of Barbadian rum. Hailing from the Foursquare Distillery this independent bottling has been welcomed with open arms into the Libations Cask Reserve Series. Re-racked into a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask the final 3 months of this rums 12 year maturation was spent in the UK’s first 'Warm Room'. Mimicking that tropical environment that the rum enjoyed so much at source.

This single cask yielded a total of 258 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Over ripe fruit, butterscotch, pear drops, tobacco.

Palate: Dried fruit, gently smoked oak, the suggestion of tar.

Finish: Long mouth coating finish consisting of tropical fruits and sweetened lightly smoked oak.
