Producer Information

Ribas del Cua is a family winery that began its journey at the end of the 80s.

With great effort, more than 250 small-scale farms were gathered on the banks of the Cua River, in the middle of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through Cacabelos, until it has grouped 60 hectares into a single plot: Finca Robledo.

The women of the family have taken the reins of the management, giving a more modern and current image, without departing from the philosophy that gave rise to the company: tradition and moderniy.

With the collaboration of Ana Martin, the new family generation, always at the foot of the vineyard, is still committed to the care of the vine and the earth, the contemporary and the traditional as the basis of our success.

Grapes

Mencia,

Production

Wine obtained from Mencia grapes with controlled yields from the Eleventh plot of Finca Robledo. Aged for 8 months in American and French oak barrels. It is bottled in integrity, without stabilization or filtration, remaining in bottle for its refining a minimum of 6 months.

Tasting Notes

It has a good structure on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasant finish, full of aromatic flavours.

An intense and fresh wine, with very personal aromas of the Mencia grape: broom and cassis, integrated with coconut and vanilla oak. Good structure in the mouth, very integrated tannins, of an appreciable length in the mouth, and a very pleasant end, full of aromatic sensations of characters similar to the direct ones.

Pair with Veal, beef wellington, or game.
