Romariz Organic Ruby Reserve Port

Manuel da Rocha Romariz returned from Brazil to Portugal in the early 19th century, laying the foundation for his legacy when he officially registered as a Port wine exporter in 1850 under the BOEIRA and ROMARIZ brands. When the estate was sold in 1966, the ROMARIZ brand took a separate path with the acquiring company. More recently, however, it has returned to its roots and reunited with Quinta da Boeira, the very home where it was born.

The Romariz brand has focused itself as a higher-volume, entry level brand that never compromises on the quality that has earned the trust of consumers and distributors worldwide.

The estate vineyards in Alijó, situated on the high-altitude plateau of the Cima Corgo, benefit from a cooler microclimate that sets them apart from the lower Douro. Mountain-chilled nights balance intense daytime sun, slowing the ripening process to preserve vital natural acidity and aromatic complexity. Planted in rugged schist soils, the vines yield grapes with striking structure, power, and refined elegance. The grapes are vinified in the Douro and aged in the century-old cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.

The vineyards are located on the Alijó plateau, within the Douro Demarcated Region, at an altitude of 550 meters. Morning dew is followed by days with high temperatures in the summer and low temperatures in the winter, though slightly milder than the average for the Douro wine region.

Produced under certified organic farming practices. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is made using the traditional Port wine method: with unique maceration and short alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by fortification.

Deep ruby colour. Fresh bouquet of wild berries and ripe fig on the nose. Smooth, elegant and well-balanced on the palate, with a refined finish.

Perfect with chocolate brownies and strong cheeses.
