Under the expert eye of the award-winning winemaker, Alex Russell, Russell & Suitor Wines has raised the bar of winemaking in South Australia’s Riverland region for the last six years. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, both locally and internationally, Alex’s motivation to create the best possible product has resulted in a diverse range of premium alternative wines.

More recently, Alex has set his sights on the world-renowned wine region of Piper’s River, Tasmania. Internationally known to produce some of the best Tasmania Wines (cool-climate wines) globally, Alex intends to create a range of unique wines in style and quality.

Alex Russell has also been personally involved in designing and creating one of the most innovative and state-of-the-art wineries in Australia. The new facility includes a state-of-the-art cellar door for tourists, which is an excellent example of how Alex’s vision for the future is creating an exceptional product that will allow his customers to experience their brand first hand.

In addition to being an award-winning winemaker, Alex is also a highly respected wine judge with a record of over 20 years in the industry. He has been involved in judging and tasting wines from around the world, including Canada, New Zealand, Pacific Rim, Asia and Europe.

Alejandro Wine label is Russell & Suitor’s premium offering of alternate varietal wines inspired by the sun-beaten soils of Southern Spain.

Fiano,

The varieties grown for the Alejandro label, such as Vermentino and Saperavi, adapt exceptionally well to the climate of the Murray Darling wine-growing region, which mirrors that of their ancestral homes. Dark and fruit-driven, Alejandro Premium Australian Wines are the perfect companions for all things tapas.

The fruit was destemmed and chilled to our presses with the juice separated for this wine. The juice was lightly clarified before a slow fermentation at cool temperatures, using a carefully selected yeast in optimising varietal expression. After a short period on yeast lees the wine was filtered and prepared for bottling.

Pale, straw green in appearance. Aromas of green apple, melon, ginger and fresh cashew. Moderate to full bodied, with a full fruit sweet finish, followed by great acid balance.

Delicious with any salty tapas including prawns and mackerel.
