Backed by a history rooted in winemaking culture in Spain, Miguel Torres Chile arrived in the Curica Valley in 1979 after searching for a new location. On this journey, as well as finding excellent climatic conditions, the family has committed to innovating in wine production, incorporating stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels.

Today, Miguel Torres Chile also focuses its commitment on organic vine-growing and Fair Trade certification for various wines. These advances have helped the company to become more sustainable, and to implement several sustainable projects.

Miguel Torres Chile maintains the cornerstone concepts that have marked its history and production chain: Fair Trade, organic farming, and innovation.

The company has worked to recover traditional varieties almost forgotten in Chile, such as Pais, Carignan, and Muscat, using small suppliers from rainfed areas. Cordillera Carignan, Estelado Rose, Reserva de Pueblo, and Dias de Verano are among the products associated with this kind of project.

With a presence in more than 100 countries, the Miguel Torres Chile family winery has established itself over the past 30 years as one of the main producers of high-quality wines through its products identity, respect for the environment, and social responsibility.

In 2010, Miguel Torres Maczassek, from the fifth generation of the Torres Family, took over as company president in Chile, with aims such as increasing exports and ensuring the smooth operation of the winery.

The first estate acquired by Miguel Torres Chile was FUNDO MAQUEHUA (Curica Valley) in 1979. It is home to the production plant and aging cellars.

This 95-hectare estate, with stony land and good drainage, has particularly good conditions for growing red varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The stone crosses located on the outskirts of the earth received the name of Santa Digna. These crosses served to delimit the territories and symbolized fortune and protection for those who left for remote countries.

The image of Santa Digna retains the purest aspects of our identity, bringing together the prosperity and simplicity of the Chilean project. It reflects the combination of its origin (a cross representing prosperity) with the Latin American Andean cross, in appreciation of the continent and the culture that welcomed us more than 30 years ago.

This wine is a fresh pale gold colour and has harmonious aromas recalling ripe tropical fruits layered over notes of apple and fennel. It is silky on the palate, with good acidic structure and a long finish.

Great for summer salads or white fish.
