Solar Del Alma Malbec

The Organic & biodynamic Bodegas Krontiras was founded in 2003, when Constantinos and Silvina Krontiras, amazed by the landscape and its resemblance to their homeland Greece, decided to acquire an 80-years-old Vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.

They built an impressive Winery applying the golden ratio φ (1,618) and π (3,14) to create an excellent environment for wine elaboration and aging. The winery uses natural insulation materials (straws) to achieve energy saving and apply a very rational use of natural resources during the production process.

The winemaking team and the general profile of their wines is managed by renowned Greek enologist Panos Zouboulis, who got its degree in Bordeaux and accounts for over 30 years of experience, mostly in Europe, and has specialised in organic and biodynamic cultivation.

The winery is located in a 10ha vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo, with an average of over 80 years, and they also source grapes from a second farm with 18 hectares of newer vines in Maipo, Mendoza.

Malbec,

In crafting this Malbec, meticulous care is taken from vine to bottle. The vineyard, situated in Maipú, Mendoza, at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level, boasts vines dating back to 2005 and follows the Guyot simple conduction method. With a density of 6,900 plants per hectare and a production of 1,300g per plant, the manual selection of clusters during harvest ensures only the finest grapes are chosen. The winemaking process involves a cold maceration in 50HL stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit. Notably, this Malbec sees no oak aging, allowing its vibrant character to shine through.

Aromas of crunchy red fruits take center stage, accompanied by a delightful floral background, showcasing the essence of the Malbec grape. This Malbec presents a lighter style with no oak contact, a deliberate choice to appreciate its freshness.
