Bottled In Bond
Bottled in Bond (BiB) is a very old U.S labelling term which is almost extinct, more’s the pity. This denotes quality. To be labelled as BiB a whisky must be made using grains from a single distillery season, aged in a government bonded warehouse under close scrutiny and then bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV this side of the pond).
