The Barbieri Company was established in 1891 by Giuseppe Barberi in Padua, Country_Italy to produce and market a wide range of liqueurs. The company's most famous and enduring product, Aperol, was especially created in 1919 by his two sons, Luigi and Silvio for Padua International Fair.
The spirit based aperitif's unique flavour and colour comes from a secret blend of 16 ingredients, which include bitter orange essence, gentian and quinine. The majority of the ingredients come from the Piedmont region in Northern Italy.
In 1991, the Barber Company was acquired by Ireland's C&C International and then shortly after by Gruppo Campari who have continued to build on the Aperol brand and today it is enjoyed in Italy and across the world.
