Canaima Gin is produced at DUSA in Venezuela. Though you may not recognise this distilleries name, they produce one of the most highly awarded rums in the world, the famous Diplomatico.
Canaima gin showcases some relatively unknown and obscure botanicals foraged from the Amazon rainforest right on their doorstep. With native botanicals in mind, Canaima pays a decent wage to local tribes who do the foraging. What's more, 10% of the profit from each bottle will go towards reforestation of the Amazon as well as preserving the culture and heritage of the indigenous people.
Juniper & other classic gin botanicals along with; merey (cashew fruit), acai (small purple fruit), Uva de Palma (fruit from a palm), tupiro fruit, seje (a delicate palm fruit) & copoazu (related to the cacao tree).Â
Sharp and fruity. Tangy notes of passion fruit, papaya and grapefruit citrus, with a herbaceous backdrop, black pepper heat and an earthy, grassy undertone.
Grapefruit soda/coconut water garnished with pink grapefruit. Works well with Premium/Mediterranean tonic garnished with pink grapefruit.
