Product Information

Don Q is produced at the Serralles Distillery, a pioneer among spirits producers when it comes to clean, environmentally conscious business practices. They have invested millions of dollars and significant time and brainpower in the creation and implementation of their distillery's waste treatment system. Connecting a series of self-contained processes into an innovative cycle of waste treatment and energy harvest.

All the Don Q Rums are produced sustainably, using a unique starter culture of yeast. The rums are distilled in some of the rum industry's most efficient column stills, producing a light, yet complex and creamy spirit. Post aging Don Q do not add any sugar to their rums, any sweetness comes from the casks alone.

DON Q PORT CASK FINISH

An exceptionally crafted double-aged Puerto Rican rum. Don Q Double Aged Port Cask Finish captures the 158 years of rum making tradition the Serrallés family pours into every bottle. Exquisitely aged 5 to 8 years in American white oak barrels, resting another 3 years in old European tawny port wine casks. This imparts an exceptional smoothness and complexity of flavour to the rum that makes it an essential for any rum connoisseur craving the unique Port experience.

Tasting Notes

Dark amber colour. Aromas and flavours of roasted coconut butter, kola nut, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and all spice with a round, dry-ish medium body and a long finish conveying notes of gingersnap cookies with fresh coconut shavings, walnut paste and black tea, bitter cocoa, and dates and figs. Smells and tastes of many seasons of extended aging; pour over a single ice cube on a warm summer evening and let this Rum unfold for an hour or so.
