"In 1927, they founded one of the very first cooperative wineries in the Mâconnais, which remains today among the few wineries still independent in the region.
This autonomy in solidarity allows the 50 or so winegrowers of Igé to perpetuate a firmly rooted tradition.

Igé is located halfway between Cluny and Mâcon in the heart of the Mâcon vineyards.
The latter enjoys an enviable place in Burgundy, since it is the first to feel the mildness of the south.

The Igé winegrowers are still the worthy heirs of the Romans who planted the first vineyard here and of the monks of Cluny who, in the Middle Ages, gave it a formidable boost.

A tradition of working the vineyard and wine based on meticulous respect for quality.

It is by preserving this gift of nature and history, and by combining their talent with the best of technology that Les Vignerons d'Igé produce heartfelt wines capable of enchanting the finest palates.

Distribution of plots, selective sorting of the harvest, pressing in a pneumatic press, controlled vinification at low temperature, aging in traditional vats or oak barrels.

From planting to drawing, everything is done to preserve the unique character of each wine.

A large part of the operators have switched to HVE (High Environmental Value) cultivation.
This label is done in the vineyard. The commitment to respect all the standards in force, to reduce our inputs and to plough our vines."

Aged in large oak vats.

Facing south-east, this mature Saint Véran has fine aromas of citrus and ripe apple and aniseed. The finish is very persistent with a beautiful spice. Its balance and delicacy give it a presence worthy of its reputation.

Drink with roast chicken on a Sunday afternoon.
