The US*1 expressions honour Michter's heritage and consist of some of the finest small batch whiskeys available today. Distilled to Master Distiller Willie Pratt’s exacting specifications, the US*1 range is only released when Willie and the Michter's tasting panel deem it ready.
Michter’s No.1 Unblended American Whiskey
Unlike Bourbon or Rye, which, by definition, must be aged in new oak barrels, Michter's US*1 Unblended American Whiskey is aged using bourbon-soaked barrels to achieve a rich and unique flavour profile.
Deeming it "the best it's ever been", Master Distiller Willie Pratt agreed to re-release the US* 1 Unblended American Whiskey in 2013, after a nearly three-year absence from the market.
Nose: Quite sweet on the nose, with stone fruits, barrel char and a creamy, buttery note. There’s also sweet spices and orange citrus aromas.
Palate: Pleasant spiciness, predominantly tobacco and leather, while butterscotch and caramel sweetness balances everything, as does the soft fruit and oaky notes.
Finish: Medium length, with the spices lingering the longest.
