The US*1 expressions honour Michter's heritage and consist of some of the finest small batch whiskeys available today. Distilled to Master Distiller Willie Pratt’s exacting specifications, the US*1 range is only released when Willie and the Michter's tasting panel deem it ready.
Michter’s No.1 Bourbon
Michter’s US *1 Bourbon is made from a carefully selected mashbill that features the highest quality American corn. It is then matured to the peak of perfection, with barrels often ageing in excess of eight years.
Truly “small batch”, each batch of Michter’s US* 1 Bourbon is typically composed of no more than two dozen barrels, leaving no margin for “blending out” imperfection and ensuring that each barrel is excellent.
Nose: Very rich and fruity on the nose, with sumptuous notes of dried fruit, raisins and barley sugar, countered by brioche and fennel.
Palate: Easy drinking and smooth mouthfeel, with a generous helping of sweet spice – cinnamon and nutmeg – along with refreshingly juicy fruit.
Finish: The richness remains, but there’s freshness in the form of black pepper that delivers a kick of spicy zing.
