Product Information

Maison Ferrand Owner and Master Distiller, Alexandre Gabriel works closely with distilleries across the Caribbean and America's crafting rums, they are left to age in warm Caribbean cellars for the initial part of their life. During the secondary process, the rums are exported to Cognac where they undergo a series of age old Cognac making techniques. This centuries old application is known by the French as 'elevage' and the process used is unique to Plantation. Vibrant, full flavoured Caribbean rums, finished with French finesse.

Plantation X Latitude Belize Cherry Liqueur Cask

Bottled for our little shop by Maison Ferrand. This is a 100% molasses, colomn still rum from Travellers Liquors Distillery in Belize.

This rum had a 3-4 day fermentation. The rum spent 6 years aging in ex-bourbon casks in the tropical heat of Belize before spending an aditional year in France, in ex-Ferrand Cognac casks. A final year finishing period is spent in ex-cherry liqueur casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A whole plethora of cherries! Maraschino, cherry bakewell. Maybe it is just the season but is there some mince pie here? Nutty, almond notes come over in waves.

Palate: Drier & spicier than the nose suggests. Again cherries and almonds are the main show here but with a lovely hint of dark chocolate.

Finish: The finish is long. As the fresh fruit fades, dates and chocolate remains.
