Maison Ferrand Owner and Master Distiller, Alexandre Gabriel works closely with distilleries across the Caribbean and America's crafting rums, they are left to age in warm Caribbean cellars for the initial part of their life. During the secondary process, the rums are exported to Cognac where they undergo a series of age old Cognac making techniques. This centuries old application is known by the French as 'elevage' and the process used is unique to Plantation. Vibrant, full flavoured Caribbean rums, finished with French finesse.

Nose: Expressive and complex, the rum opens with bright citrus notes of orange zest and lemon, intertwined with rich dried raisins. Exotic undertones of papaya and passionfruit add depth, while hints of sandalwood, cloves and balsamic bring a refined, almost resinous character. A touch of vanilla and pipe tobacco emerges as the rum aerates.

Palate: Velvety and full bodied, with luscious dark chocolate and golden honey at the forefront. Layers of baked pear, candied quince and spiced orange marmalade unfold, balanced by subtle woody nuances. The interplay of cinnamon, black pepper and dried apricot adds both warmth and structure.

Finish: Exceptionally long and complex with lingering notes of banana, lemon zest and apricot. A bittersweet touch of sandalwood and liquorice appears accompanied by hints of coffee, cumin and tobacco, rounding out the profile with a sophisticated smokiness.
