Product Information

Burrow Hill is a 250-acre farm and has been making cider for over 300 years, and more recently, Somerset Cider Brandy since the 1980’s. All their products are made from fruit grown organically on the regenerative family farm. As well as cider and apple brandy they make eau de vie, Somerset Pomona, Kingston Black Aperitif, perry and various fruit spirits. In 2011, the company joined an elite list of European food and drink producers after being awarded Protected Geographical Indication status. They are currently the only spirit in England to have this recognition. The vision is long term, sustainable and small. The ultimate goal is to protect and grow the farm's unique and bio diverse environment.

It is distilled exclusively from vintage cider produced using only freshly-pressed juice, which must be derived from at least 20 varieties of traditional cider apples grown naturally in Somerset on standard trees. Furthermore, the cider brandy must be distilled, matured in oak for a minimum of 3 years and bottled within Somerset.

Tasting Notes

Complex with a velvety palate and intriguing spicy aftertaste.

The nose is fruity, sweet and floral, like spring in the orchards. There is honeysuckle, apple blossom and hawthorn. The taste is full of apple, with delicate white flowers and a clean lingering fruit finish.

This brandy has gained depth, smoothness and stature. With its complexity, velvety palate and intriguing spicy aftertaste it is a candidate for after dinner.
