Teeling Single Malt

Located in the heart of the historic Liberties, against the backdrop of a city steeped in whiskey history, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery opened its doors in 2015 as the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years, reviving this long heritage of urban Whiskey production in this famous old Dublin distilling quarter. With one eye on the past, but very much looking towards the future, Teeling's focus is on crafting unconventional Irish flavours, forging a new future for Teeling, Dublin, and Irish Whiskey.

Whiskey making and entrepreneurship has been in the Teeling family genes as far back as 1782, when Walter Teeling set up a small craft distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the industrial heart of Dublin City.

Since 2012, Jack and Stephen Teeling, the latest generation of Teeling Whiskey makers, have been putting their own mark on Irish Whiskey and came full circle in 2015 when they proudly opened the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery just down the road from where the original family distillery once stood. The Teeling Whiskey Distillery today is the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years.

Through the use of innovative maturation techniques, atypical mash bills and forward-thinking distillation methods, combining tradition with modern technology, Teeling are constantly pushing the boundaries of flavour.

Teeling do not chill filter their whiskey prior to bottling, leaving as much of the body, character and richness in the bottle, bottling at 46% ABV as their minimum strength, maintaining the true, natural character of all the Teeling whiskeys.

Single Malt

Made with Irish Whiskeys distilled from 100% malted barley, matured and finished in casks that impart the influence of five different cask types; Virgin American Oak, Ruby Port, Caravelos White Port, Madeira, and Bourbon. This Irish Single Malt Whiskey delivers a unique fruit-forward flavour profile that is complex, yet balanced and has often been described as “a symphony” of flavour.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Green grass, sweet and sour green apple, pineapple cubes and zesty lime skin, with vanilla extract and dried gentle fruit providing some darker notes.

Palate: More pineapple cubes, icing sugar, lemon bonbons and sponge cake with butter icing, with granny smith apples for some balancing sharpness and some cloves for bitterness and spice.

Finish: Sweet lemon and butter hangs around, with some sharp and almost minty woodiness in the background.
