Sokol Blosser Evolution White

Bill and Susan Sokol Blosser planted their first vines in 1971 in the Dundee Hills as part of a hippie dream. Back then there was no Oregon wine industry, driven by a passion for quality Pinot Noir, which they knew would thrive in the climate. Now Dundee, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, is the epicentre of Oregon Pinot Noir.

Sokol Blosser estate vineyards are farmed organically and the wines made naturally. Local organic straw, organic cow and horse manure, grape pomace from the crush and organic rock phosphate contribute to the composting. The insect population is kept in check by a resident flock of bluebirds! As well as that, they are leaders in sustainable business practice, using renewable energy and biofuel on the estate.

The Evolution Range was born out of niche for quality blends. Producing a proprietary blend like Evolution is a combination of art and science. People always joke around, asking whether it was created on purpose or if they just blended leftovers and it happened to work, which is why "Luck VS Intention" features heavily on the label.

For years, Evolution White lovers asked for a red counterpart and they fulfilled that dream in 2012 with the release of Evolution Big Time Red. The Evolution family has continued to grow and evolve with the addition of Brut Sparkling and Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

Field Blend,

Organic, careful hand harvesting. Local organic straw, organic cow and horse manure, grape pomace from the crush and organic rock phosphate contribute to the composting.

Grapes used include; Muller-Thurgau, Riesling, Semillon, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Muscat Canelli, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner

Aged in French oak barrels for approximately sixteen months followed by a further year in bottle.

Evolution White is both complex and approachable, with an intensely aromatic and flavourful blend of white varietals that create a wine with depth of interest and versatility in pairing. Spicy and floral on the nose, Evolution is lush and tropical on the palate, with a soft and round sweetness that is tempered by a burst of citrus, leaving the finish clean and crisp.

Pair it with spicy Asian, Indian, Mexican and Caribbean foods. Or with a jambalaya.
