“Armenia Wine” company was founded by Vardanyan and Mkrtchyan families as a manifestation of love for their homeland, nature and culture. It all started in 2006 from the vineyards planted in Armavir region, southwest of Armenia, and later turned into a big winemaking project. The winery itself was founded in 2008. Winery is located in Aragatsotn region, one of the viticulture regions of Armenia. It is situated between Yerevan and Mount Aragats, Armenia’s highest peak.

Today Armenia Wine represents an exemplary winery, where century-old Armenian winemaking lives its time of renaissance. Discover more about our company which has become the symbol of Armenian modern winemaking.

Geographic and climatic conditions in Armenia are exceptional for vine growing. The complex interaction of natural conditions within the small territory of the country induced and affected the formation of quite a peculiar range of soil types, from the volcanic and semi-desert zone to the mountain meadow soils of an alpine type.

The climate is dry and continental due to mountains in most of the regions. Armenian grape varieties have been evolving over thousands of years of folk selection and later their spectrum was enriched by hybridization.

Here the vines grow at altitudes between 850 and 1850 m a.s.l. and on their own, ungrafted roots, which results in the surprising authenticity of the wines. Volcanic soils, harsh climate and high altitude define the fascinating uniqueness of the Armenian terroir.

Kangun, Rkatsiteli

65% Kangun, 35% Rkatsiteli.

Continental climate. Vineyards are situated at altitudes of 850 – 1000 meters above sea level.

Manual harvest. Gentle membrane pressing with inert gas. Two weeks of alcoholic fermentation with temperature between 14˚C to 16˚C in stainless steel tank.

Vibrant, light straw colour. Fresh aroma of quince, white flowers and pear. Intense, mineral, crispy and very refreshing on the palate with further notes of lime and fresh herbs like fennel and tarragon.

Drink with fish, light meat dishes – guinea fowl, game birds, pork. Also works well with Lebanese, Turkish, Iranian and Indian dishes.
