Berry's Brothers and Rudd was founded in 1698, making it one of the oldest wine merchants in the world. BBR also produce their own liqueurs (The Kings Ginger Liqueur being one of the most popular) and release lots of wonderful whiskies and rums as an independent bottler.
Often claimed to be the birthplace of rum, Barbados has over 350 years' experience growing sugar cane. This example, sourced from Foursquare distillery, is softly brooding on the nose, with sugared almonds providing levity, especially allied to a palate offering notes of dense wood and molasses. This is a delightfully old-fashioned rum of a type that has been popular on these islands for generations.
Dried oak, pineapple cubes, hibiscus, brown sugar and cedar.
