Christian Drouin has been making delicious, fruity Calvados for more than 50 years in the Pays d'Auge area of Normandy. The company uses more than 30 varieties of apple, creating a complex blend of flavours in the finished spirit, some of which are incredibly age worthy.
Produced in the Pays d'Auge from bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet and sharp cider apples by double distillation in copper stills, VSOP is aged in small previously-used casks, including some former wine casks. The blend also contains some sprits aged in former fortified wine casks, adding further sweetness and complexity
Cooked apple and pear, with a zesty hint of green apple sharpness. Soft cinnamon and nutmeg spiciness and touches of freshly cut cedar.
