It’s been a fairly badly kept secret but after months of planning and negotiations we are ready to complete the lease on the next chapter for Latitude Wine & Liquor Merchant!
When I started the business, over 15 years ago, it was just myself and a part time member of staff (thanks Will). Initially we had 440 products and a Renault Scenic with the seats down for deliveries.

We’ve grown every year (well, apart from lockdown). We’re now a team of 5 (Sophie, Nolan, Mark & Max) with 2 vans on the road this Christmas. We’re getting close to 2000 products with an extra warehouse to store everything.
You will have noticed, if you’re one of our thousands of loyal customers to visit the shop recently, that the our arch way is getting a bit crowded. There’s no room for new products and the old railway arch is desperately in need of a bit of TLC from our Landlord.
So earlier this year we started negotiating with Yorkshire Design Group @ydgleeds to move into a new premises just down the road in 46 the Calls.
The unit is three times the size of our current arch, so we realised it was time to fulfil our long term plan of applying for an On as well as an Off Premise License, so we can up our game and serve wine by the glass and spirits by the shot.
I’m not going to bore you now with how arduous the license and planning application has been, because we finally have both. Work will start on the new shop in January and we’ll hopefully be moving in the Springtime.
So get ready for the new Latitude Wine and Liquor Merchant AND Tasting Room (we need to work on that title). After over 25 years working in (and with) some of Leeds' finest bars and restaurants I cannot wait to have an actual bar to serve behind. Expect the finest cheese and charcuterie, a small but focused cocktail menu made with only the finest ingredients, and an opportunity to try any one of thousands of products on our (brand new) shelves.
